CONSERVATION OF CULTURE

The Garifuna culture celebrates every year on April 12th, the first Garifuna community of Honduras named as Punta Gorda, hosts a celebration to honor the anniversary of the arrival of the garifuna culture in the island. Punta Gorda is the oldest permanent settlement in Roatan, if you are in the island during this time, we recommend head to the east of Roatan island to learn more about this unique and thriving culture, it's an amazing cultural experience.

Every year on the 22 of April, we celebrate the devolution of the Bay Islands to Honduras by the British. The mentioned celebration is carried out through solemn and cultural acts like: Plat pole (called the great island dance), home coming queens, popular dances, boat competitions. These celebrations are accompanied by local musical groups.

Sea, Sun and Sand: three words that confine a true scene of natural and tropical fantasy, so enchanting that it is capable of transforming the atmosphere in to a peaceful paradise; that is Roatan, one of the Bay Islands.

The island of Roatan is located on the Mesoamerican reef system, surrounded by reefs, home to a wide variety of marine life, thriving coral reefs and a range of unique undersea sights. From west to east you will find different types of palm trees that decors every village of the island, and if you go into the forest you can find several species of trees, including the oak.
